A Cross-Sectional Study on Histological Pattern of Primary Glomerular Diseases among Adult Patients

Background and Aims: Primary glomerulonephritis (GN) is the major cause for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) considered to contribute in 52% cases. Kidney biopsy an essential tool nephrologists' clinical practice determining diagnosis, prognosis, therapy of a variety glomerular conditions. The purpose present study was determine primary diseases histopathological pattern among adult patients. Patients Methods: A total 94 suspected (GD) patients were investigated this cross-sectional conducted Nephrology Unit Medicine department Mayo Hospital, Lahore from 21st January 2021 20th February 2022. Individual’s demographic details, diagnostic tests, presentation, kidney indications, post-biopsy complications recorded on pre-designed questionnaire/pro-forma. Data analysis done using SPSS version 27. Results: Out patients, about 76 (80.9%) had diagnosed native biopsies. overall mean age 38.4± 6.2 years. there 48 (51.1%) male 46 (48.9%) females. incidence nephrotic syndrome unexplained parameters elevations 47.4% (n=36) 31.6% (n=24) respectively. prevalence focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), membrano-proliferative (MPGN), minimal change disease, IgA nephropathy 30.3% (n=23), 25% (n=19), 17.1% (n=13), 6.6% (n=5) post-complications found 8 (10.5%) Conclusion: observed that MPGN FSDS most prime causes disease. prevalent indication syndrome.
